Chaste Berry (Vitex Agnus Castus) Powder

Beneficial for the hormonal system. Chaste Berry has been in use for centuries for balancing and regulating the hormonal system. It gently, but effectively, supports the normal functioning of the pituitary gland, correcting hormonal disturbances. Supporting the progesterone level is extremely helpful in counteracting the irritability and unpredictability that can happen with mares "in season," making them more comfortable, co-operative and safer to handle. Agnus Castus can also be used for overly aggressive stallions and geldings. Agnus castus may benefit your mare if she is experiencing mood changes, anxiety, nervous tension, and physical discomfort related to oestrous cycle.

Wheatgerm Meal

Wheatgerm is made from the heart of wheat kernels and is rich in digestible protein and low in fibre. It is an excellent source of Vitamins B complex and contains about 10% oil that is rich in Vitamin E. Wheatgerm is rich in Iron and Minerals such as Calcium and Phosphorus and Linoleic Acid.

Fenugreek

Fenugreek's chemical composition is very similar to that of cod liver oil. The fenugreek seeds are nutritious being 8% oil and 20% protein, containing vitamins A, B and C as well as Vitamin E, and rich in calcium. This herb combines well with garlic.

Bee Pollen

100% Bee Pollen. Excellent for Air-Borne Allergies and runny eyes. Bee Pollen powder is predigested and is an outstanding nutrient. Wonderful to build up the immune system. Strenghtens and builds the system, increases endurance and work capacity. An energising food, helps build resistance to stress and colds, influences the adrenal hormones. The primary ingredient of bee pollen, the pollen of many species of flowers, is a nutritious component of the horse's natural diet. Bee pollen contains a rich array of carotenoids, the family of natural plant antioxidants that includes beta carotene. Many horse owners report increased vitality, better overall health, from adding bee pollen to the feed.
Bee Pollen also contains elements science is not yet able to isolate and identify. Some authorities believe it is precisely these elements, often called the *magic* of the bee, which makes Bee Pollen so effective.

Daily dose to be mixed in with food; for a 1000lb horse one tablespoon in am feeding. Repeat in pm feeding. For all other animals, use 1/8 teaspoon per 15 pounds of body weight. Feed in am and repeat in pm feeding. Allow 30-60 days to see results.

Herbal regulator for mares

Hormonal imbalance can lead to stiffness in the back area, mood swings, irritability, difficult behaviour. Chaste Berry (Vitex Agnus-castus) is the active ingredient. This blend also contains Dong Quai root.

For mare-ish behaviour, best given in a 2-3-weeks-on 1-week-off cycle. Not for use during pregnancy.

Note: valerian is now a swabbable substance and there is a four-day stand-down period.
