Your horse's nervousness can have a variety of causes. It may be that the horse or pony is on a high from over-feeding, pain from ill-fitting tack, fear and stress because of his surroundings, not enough exercise, or lack of training. Our herbal supplements were never intended to replace good handling and management. It can, however, be of assistance when dealing with youthful, overexuberant, inexperienced or timid horses that get anxious in strange surroundings or competition, or for those that are injured and must be kept confined.

We have two products to help:

Valerian Calming Powder

For: nervous or timid horses.
Contains: Valerian Root Powder (no fillers)

Herbalcalm

To: reduce nervousness, stress, tension, anxiety and nervous energy.

• Valerian: is one of the most effective nervines. This herb can help reduce tension, will calm and relax your horse without making him dopey and lethargic.
  Traditionally it has been used to relieve nervousness, stress, anxiety, muscle tension and bronchial spasms. It has a very strong odour and is very attractive to cats!
• Hops: This herb has a relaxing effect on the central nervous system and aids in relieving stress, tension and anxiety.

• Chamomile: This is a very famous herb. Chamomile flowers are a gentle sedative and will help with anxiety. It is an ideal herb for digestive upsets, and wild horses have been observed seeking it out when they appear colicky.
  Chamomile also has anti-inflammatory and anti-spasmodic properties and works well on older horses/ponies who may have joint stiffness or digestive problems.
